Kia ora e hoa,
The newly-established Ko Waitangi Te Awa Trust, Sustainable Coastlines and ANZ bank invite you to join us and plant native seedlings alongside a historic and beautiful river, on Thursday the 23rd of July.
This is the first activity being held by the new charitable trust, which aims to regenerate the wellbeing of people and the river throughout the catchment. In anticipation, seeds were collected for native plants and trees to be grown, with help from prison nurseries in Auckland and Northland. They are now ready to be planted to help clean up the river to mark the beginning of a better future for the river.
We will meet at 10AM for a mihi, whakatau and a karakia to bless the site before we begin. Lunch will be provided thanks to the generous support of ANZ bank, who are committed to giving back to the waterways by supporting the ANZ Love Your Water Tour.

Please bring:
Gumboots or sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy, this is critical for Health & Safety considerations.
Warm and waterproof clothes. At least one warm top layer and a rain jacket.
Sun hat and sunscreen.
Reusable water bottle (filled up and ready to go)
Bring a camera (optional). We would love to see your event photos!

We will provide:
Trees and planting site
A planting tutorial
Gloves
Spades
Refreshments and kai
Health & safety documentation and briefing
First aid kits and first aid trained staff
