Oturu School took part in the Whitebait Connection Programme with lots of community support and formed the 'big questions' of learning:
what lives in Lake Ohia wetlands and lake environments?
what is threatening the Lake Ohia wetlands and dune lakes?
what did the Lake Ohia wetlands used to be like?
The school's programme was documented on the Whitebait Connection using the Wet Feet Resource DVD. Students are also forming a Kid's Witness News piece on what they learnt about their local freshwater environments.
